Description

This course is designed to help students familiarize the history of art from the Renaissance to the contemporary period. Students will examine the development of major styles in architecture, sculpture, painting, graphic arts, and photography, from the Renaissance to the present. The historical and cultural context will also be introduced and analyzed during class. This course enables students to comprehend the terminology and visual strategies to distinguish the qualities of naturalism, the elements, and stylistic movements.
