Description

Focusing on the history of art since around 1945, this course provides students with a brief introduction on the art styles, artworks, famous artists, significant movements and major development in the field of art that happened mainly in the Europe and the United States. Special emphasis will be placed on major themes of art during certain period of time in a chronological order, including but beyond Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, Minimalism, and Active art. Famous artists such as Piet Mondrian, Jackson Pollock, David Smith and Edvard Munch together with their famous artworks will be analyzed in detailed.
