Description

Presenting the development of art in China in a chronological order, this course provides students with a brief introduction on the styles of arts, major themes, essential artworks, famous artists, and events behind the trends. Bronzewares, ceramics, jades, paintings, architectures, scluptures, calligraphy, and decorative arts will be included in the content. Famous art pieces include Houmuwuding, the Tomb of Qin Shihuangdi, Lanting Preface of Wang Xizhi, the three halls of the states in the Forbidden City, Living in the Fuchun Mountains of Huang Gongwang, the Yuanmingyuan, the Summer Palace and famous pieces of ceramics in Kangxi, Qianlong, Yongzheng period.
