The course also introduces conceptions of human nature and topics of the good life, happiness, and knowledge. Problems introduced by science, morality, religion, politics, and art will also be discussed. Students reflect upon philosophical issues through discussions and formal critical essays so as to develop the analytical skills necessary for effectively evaluating arguments and thinking independently.
