This course introduces students to film aesthetics and provides students with a fluency in and understanding of film’s unique language as it evolves technologically and generically. It will cover five main parts, including film production, distribution, and exhibition, film form, types of films, film style, and critical analysis of films. During the courses, short and feature films will be shown and analyzed, so as to more rigorously study their formal grammar. Through the courses, students will be able to understand the basic concepts related to films and master the methods to write film analysis.
